To use its smarts, it must be matched to a smart reader. In the United States, only about 600,000 point-of-sale terminals are specifically equipped for smart cards, according to Randy J. Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance, a trade group.To use this type of credit card, all the point of sales terminals need to be compatible with this type of credit card.Will physical books be gone in five years?
