In Higher Education, a Focus on Technology

The education gap facing the nation’s work force is evident in the numbers. Most new jobs will require more than a high school education, yet fewer than half of Americans under 30 have a postsecondary degree of any kind. Recent state budget cuts, education experts agree, promise to make closing that gap even more difficult. (Lohr, 2010).

This article explain what how the Higher education is focusing on Technology.

BP5_Grade Guru

Grade Guru is a knowledge sharing network where college students can share and find notes. You have to create an account at www.gradeguru.com, you can use your facebook account or create a new one. Then you invites your classmates to create your support network. After you created your network you can start sharing notes. You can share notes, books and you can create flash cards to study for your tests. You can get feedback and rating from others students. When you get good rates from students you earn points that you can exchange for cool stuff; like restaurant discounts and other type of stuff. The more notes you share can make you a guru in the group. This website slogan is “Sharing notes, spreading knowledge”

This web tool was created by Emily Sawtell. She created this site for university students. She believe that students need to have effective study methods and have the key to share this study methods with other students.
In this site the students can upload their notes and other students can learn from their experiences. This give an idea on how to develop an assignment and students can find valuable material to read from.

I think this is a great tool to create a safe network to share and have support from other students. Using this type of tool help us as students to be in contact with other students and to received feedback and comments from each other.
